DOODLE

They did it again!!

On the wall is not enough for them. Now it's on the floor, on my LAMINATED floor!

They have books, drawing blocks and papers to scribble on, but they chose the FLOOR!!

If I were to leave it to let Hubby see, sure they will get spank.

So who else would help me to clean up? She voluntarily help me, my sweet Afrina.

From today onwards, the two rascals are barred from holding any pens, pencils especially crayons.

If they want to scribble, I will make sure I SIT TOGETHER WITH THEM.

They are not allowed to move around the house holding any pens, pencils or crayons. If not, the walls and the floor will become their writing board.

Don't play play with me!!!

1 2 3 4 Hi 5!!!!

I brought my kids to Hi5 Concert at Expo 1 yesterday.

I could see that they really had a great time and enjoyed themselves very much. At first I was sceptical about bringing them to the concert, as I was not sure if its worth it. As you know, the tickets were expensive and I had to buy four tickets for us.

But after watching them dancing and jumping along, I knew they loved it so much.

Next event of concert, I should drag Hubby along. Let him see how happy our kids are......

And of course, they also 'ketuk' me to buy these stuffs.....

Light-up Headband for the girls and Hi5 Cap for Affandy.

MY WEEEEEEEEKENDS!

Afrina got her results last Friday. Alhamdulillah, she passed and scored 'A' in all subjects. Hubby has promised to buy white board for her, so she can continue to become 'teacher' with Afiqah and Affandy as her students.

I had a great weekend. We went to JB on Saturday morning. It had been a long time since I went there. There was a slight jam at Woodlands Checkpoint, but traffic at JB was a breeze. We had our breakfast and went shopping at Giant. Buying "this thing" is a MUST in JB, so we have, err....

1) The Interpreter
2) Hitch
3) The Pacifier
4) Monster-In-Law
5) Sahara
6) Star Wars episode III

Before 1 pm, we had reached Singapore and headed straight to a wedding invitation. Since it was still early to go home, we went to Causeway Point. Great Singapore Sale has started, so I got myself a new black shoe. Reached home after 3, and the whole family watched err..."that thing".

I WAS A ONE HAPPY WOMAN ON SATURDAY!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What have I done today?
Religious class - Delivered "baskets" to my aunt's place at Sembawang - Ramblerine's sister wedding invitation at Bukit Batok - Maulid invitation at Woodlands - Raining heavily - Home, watched "that thing"....
School holidays has started, and I am going to be a much busy Ummi. My agenda will be hectic and demanding - with all 3 kids at home!
Take a deep breath Ummi.....
THOSE FEELINGS!
Today I feel that a heavy burden has been lifted from my shoulder. All those unsure feeling has gone now. I feel so relieve. Today I knew that I am still being loved. That means a great deal to me.
I'm still having flu. But its not as bad compared to the last two days. Afrina's temperature is going up and down. One moment she was fine, the next hour, her temperature rise again. This morning she started to vomit. Looking at her condition, I don't think she will be going to school tomorrow also. I want her to have proper rest. Though I am very apprehensive on her exam results, her health is much more important. Luckily Afiqah is in the same school as Afrina, so I've already asked Afrina's form teacher to pass her Record Book to Afiqah.
Affandy, on the other hand, is also having fever. No wonder the crankiness and grouchiness. As usual, if he is sick, he will lose his appetite. But this round, it really worries me. He do not even want his all time favourite, "memek"! He refuses formula milk, and he's not eating rice, where else can he get his nutrients from?
I really pray that both Afrina and Affandy will recover soon. I have so much plans for my kids during the June holidays.
Oh yes, I have 1 more kid, that's Afiqah. She will try every means to get MY attention. She would kick her vulnerable brother for no reason cause she knew he would not fight back. She would snatched the book her sister was reading and ran, as her sister would have no strength to take it back. Who would these two fragile kids called for help? Well, the Abah is not around, so, "UMMI!!!!!" plus the crying could be heard. When I came to confront her, before I could raise my voice, she would hug me and cry, "Ummi, sayang Fiqah. Nak Ummi sayang..." Haizzz...
DISTRESS
I'm down with flu....
Afrina is having high fever.
Affandy is cranky and grouchy.
Afiqah is envious of the attention given to her big sister.
And I'm hurting....
HERE I AM......
OK OK, I'm back!
Afrina has just completed her examinations today. Though she is just in K2, the school is preparing the students for Primary 1 syllabus. That is why I need to coach her religiously, hopefully she is prepared for next year. I do not want to pressure her too much, but sometimes I just can't help it. I tend to forget that she is still a child, only 6 years old.
All mothers want the best for their child. I do not want her to be left behind. Now after being a mother of 3, I realized that to teach a child is not an easy job. How I salute those teachers who can teach a class of pupils. Now I'm anxious waiting for her results.
On my hiatus, I managed to steal some time to be with a group of beautiful and hot mummies. As I get to know them better, I become more comfortable with them. Can't wait for another gathering in June. Watch out you ladies... ;-D
I have made lots of new friends through blogging. I can't deny that I enjoy meeting new friends. But at the same time, I also had lost some friends. Not because of blogging, but due to personal commitments as everyone has their own life to lead. They have made new friends and old friends are forgotten. I have made my efforts to keep the friendship on, but its gone to waste. But life still goes on and I am moving on.....
The heat is ON!
The weather, the examinations, the sewing.....blah blah blah...
Will be back once everything has cool down.
InsyaAllah......
Tuesday, April 26, 2005
I don't have the chance to update for the past 3 days. Not because of my sewing, but weekend was spent out of the house, and yesterday I was lazy to update.
Saturday, 23 April 2004
My Saturday was awesome as I got the chance to meet the ever famous henna artist, Jewel, my blog sista, Salha. And one more, Ms Mumbles, who made her cameo appearance for less than 3 minutes. She wanted to do her shopping and just popped round to say hi to us. But I managed to get Afrina to snap our photo before the celebrity left for her shopping. *Apa yang you borong hah??* As for Jewel and Salha, it's great to meet both of you. I really had fun.
Later at night, I went to my aunt's place as I was invited (BabyHD, read properly - INVITED) by her personally. A group of people came to her house to propose her second daughter (my cousin). Actually by right, I need not be there as my mum, uncles and aunts were there too. But as I said, I was invited to witness the moment, so I happily went. Hubby was also there to listen to how they put the beautiful words to "pick a blooming flower from a lovely garden". Just in case if we have to propose our future daughter-in-law for our son, Affandy....
So my beautiful cousin will be engaged to her dream man on 4 June 2005. Hope everything will go smoothly as plan. To my aunt, Mama Ju, *yeah yeah, anak aku nak kawin!!*
Sunday, 24 April 2005
We went to attend the Maulid at Expo organized by Ustaz Fahrur Razi. Our Ustaz Shafi was invited to give his preach and we wouldn't want to miss that. Despite the crowd about 15,000 people, I managed to meet two of my aunts there. The event ended at 1 pm, but we only managed to get out of Expo at 2.30 pm due to the jammed at carpark exit. We later found out that the slowness of traffic was due to drivers who did not top up their cashcard in advance. So when they reached the exit, the fund was insufficient for the car park fee. They have to go back to Expo to top up from the nearest ATM machine.
From Expo, we went to MIL's house to have our lunch. Hubby and the kids took a nap after lunch, except me. While waiting for them to wake up, I had nothing to do but to watch the repeat telecast of whatever shown on Suria. Boringgggg.... I wanted to change the channel, but since MIL was watching the TV with me, better not. So I just watched while in my heart I felt like screaming for Hubby and the kids to wake up! We reached home about 9 pm, straight away put the kids and myself to bed.
Monday, 25 April 2005
The day went by just like any other Mondays. No sewing was done as I had to send the girls to their ngaji class in the afternoon. The weather was so hot, I can't even feel the wind blowing.
But I have to do what I have to do. So under the hot weather....
With Afrina who walked so fast as she couldn't wait to reach her ustazah's house because of the heat,
With Affandy who just sit in his stroller and enjoyed the afternoon view while ME, sweating and pushing his stroller,
And with the princess Afiqah, who just take her own sweet time to walk, singing happily to dunno-what-song she learnt from school, ignoring Ummi's insist voice to double up her pace. This girl was wearing her baju kurung complete with her tudung and brooches on top of her head, under her chin and a big one on her chest. Yet she could still enjoyed her afternoon walk under the HOT sun!
Hubby came back last night from work, having FEVER. He got 2 days MC as his temperature was quite high. Hopefully he will recover soon as I need him to play with the kids before bedtime, while I do my reading with my leg up on the couch. The only time for myself....
Yes BabyHD, you are right!
I'm kind of addicted to sewing now. On Wednesday, I have completed sewing curtains for my master bedroom. Now I'm halfway through sewing curtains for my girls' room. Next, I intend to sew more curtains for Affandy's room and also the living room. These curtains are for daily use, not for Hari Raya.
I will also be sewing curtains for my mum's house, the whole house to be exact.
Her living room.
Her two bedrooms windows.
Her kitchen windows.
AND, her two bedrooms doors and also her kitchen doors.
I foresee that I will spending more time at the sewing machine than on this PC.
So once again, if you do not see any updates here, meaning I will be hiding under those piles of unsew curtains....
Saturday, 16 April 2005
As planned, a gathering was organized to visit Lizanoor and her newborn baby, Amir Mukhtar. Linda, BabyHD with Harith Danial and myself with my 3 kids went up together. Got to know Senorita with her son, Zakir who were already at Liza's place. Aliyah, Th0ts, Salha with little Irdina and Zany with handsome Mikail came too. As usual, our gatherings filled with jokes and laughter.
Pictures of little Amir.... see how fragile he is...
Affandy trying to "get to know" sexy Irdina...(boleh kan Pol??)
BabyHD and me left during the heavy downpour, leaving Aliyah to help Liza to clear the mess. Since Hubby was fetching us, we sent BabyHD home.
Stay at home for the rest of the day. We watched the Malay movie, "Gangster", with my all time favourite actor in it...Guess who?
Sunday, 17 April 2005
Went to our usual religious class. Managed to get Th0ts and her gang to sit with us. Afrina was happily being "layan" by Th0ts, Affandy dozed off on my lap and suprisingly Afiqah was on her own and well-behaved.
Headed to Al-Ameen Restaurant for lunch and went to MIL's place. Packed Nasi Briyani, Soup Tulang and Barbecue Chicken (so no cooking today). Left at 6 pm and visited Hubby's uncle at Tampines. By then my headache started, we cancelled our plan to shop at Sheng Siong. Reached home at 9.30 pm, gulped Panadol and went to sleep.
Friday, April 15, 2005
I'm so excited about this.... They arrived yesterday.
One of my hobbies is to sew. Though I'm still in the process of learning. Having these two things make it easier for me. What I am proud of was that, I saved my own pocket money to buy these, and with Hubby chipped in a quarter of the cost.
So if you see no updates on my blog, meaning I am 'kemarok' sewing something....
Saturday, April 09, 2005
Last night after sending my girls to their 'ngaji' class, I went to Vista Point to get some groceries. As I was waiting to cross the road at the traffic light, I saw a young couple who was sitting and talking on the bench. From what I saw, I could see that the guy was trying to console his sulking girl.
He tried to hold her hand, she pulled her hand away. He tried to touch her hair, she pushed his hand. He tried to hug her, she sat further apart. Called me busybody, but this drama was there for everyone to see though there was no shouting scene.
When I was crossing the road, my mind was thinking about the incident. Was I like that during my courting days with Hubby? Thinking back, I think I was, or rather still am. But I don't sulk as much as before. I know for sure I sulked a lot last time. Maybe that time, that's the only way to get Hubby's attention. Sometimes men can be so insensitive of women's feeling.
I think I sulked too much till Hubby somehow 'created' a phrase which I felt its truthness in it. He said, "Orang merajuk selalu rugi". Even if our children sulked, he would tell them that. What he meant that, people who sulk won't get the satisfaction of what they want.
But sometimes I get what I want through sulking. And I love it when Hubby consoled me. I feel pampered and feel being loved. When Hubby consoled me, meaning he knew he was wrong and he just won't admit it. Men have this thing called ego. When he consoled me, I took it as he give in and he apologies indirectly. Ego made men difficult to say sorry. Or maybe he gave up?? Oh..oh..
After knowing Hubby for 12 years and being married to him for almost 8 years now, I admit that I still yearn to hear the "3" words. Hubby is not a romantic Romeo, but he expressed his feelings through action. *grin* (not just "that" action, you dirty minded, it could be other type of actions to show his affection). But once a while, when he said those 3 words to me, I was in cloud nine. I could smile the whole day. I smiled when I cook, I smiled when I did the laundry, I smiled when I eat, and I could still smile when my kids messed the house or even draw on the wall. You see the power of those 3 words. But I don't understand, men still don't get it!
So you guys out there *hinting to Hubby*, don't hold back those 3 words. Say it to your love ones, before it's too late. Say it when she sulks. DO I need to say more?
This dish, Sotong Masak Hitam, is for Linda. I know she loves to eat this. But but but...she only takes the gravy, not the sotong. Rugikan??? So Linda, kau cium bau aje lah ek.....!
HOW TO BE A BETTER FRIEND
Found this article on my favourite magazine.....
HOW TO BE A BETTER FRIEND
* Understand that friendship, like marriages and work relationships, need both compromise and tolerance.
* Know that friendship has its ups and its downs - it's only natural. Try to smile though the good times and learn to grit your teeth through the bad.
* Be open, be honest.
* Don't be afraid to own up to "base" feelings - like envy, annoyance or disappointment. Just make sure you pick the right time or place.
* Some things really are better left unsaid. Never criticize, condemn or make jibes in haste. Remember - words hurt.
* Feel free to point out her "faults", but only if you truly believe that those faults are holding her back.
* Celebrate her triumphs and commiserate her losses with her. Show her that you are proud of her
On Saturday, I had my whole body being massaged again. This time I got the recommendation from Diana, whom she used frequently.
The massage lady started from my right feet first. Now I know how doing reflexology felt like. It was so painful at first when she found the "protest vein" (that's what she called it). But I could still control the pain. She massaged for half and hour, just on my right feet alone. Then she moved on to my left feet. This was where I almost cried cause the pain was excruciating. I understand from her that most of the wind was on my left part of my body. No wonder I frequently got headache on left side of my head. Then she slowly moved up to my upper part of body.
This was the first time the 'tukang urut' did this to me :
1) Full reflexology
2) 'Kerok' my body with a coin to bring out the wind. My whole body got red marks as though I've been brutally beaten. But it's not pain at all.
3) Massage my buttocks *gasps*
4) She asked me lie on my side, then she pulled my hand with her feet on my buttock. I swear I could hear the sound of all my bones being cracked. But the after feeling was fantastic. I whole body felt so light.
When I looked at the time, she massaged me for more that 2 HOURS!!! WOW!!!
Diana warned me before that after the massage, I would feel sleepy. This was very true. She asked me take a medicine so that I will not get 'demam urat'. This medicine also helps my body to relax and it made me sleep like a baby. I was grateful that Hubby was around the whole day to take care of the kids.
Thank you so much Darling Diana, for your recommendation. I would definitely called her up again for my next massage session. Its really worth....
Today, I can feel the difference on my body. We attended our weekly religious class in the morning. For the second time, I managed to sit together with Th0ts. She's really good at entertaining my kids, especially my girls. Thank you hor, KOdee!!
We have our lunch at Woodlands Centre and headed home. I just received a SMS from Diana, asking if my Hubby wants to massage cause someone will be massaging her hubby later. Of course my Hubby wants, in fact he's been asking me to find him a massage man but I don't know anyone. So he will not miss this opportunity. Let's see how it goes....
You have been a great help for the past 6 years. Goodbye....
Dah Rosak!!
Welcome my new helper....
Yahoooooooo.....!!!
My old washing machine decided to end its life. But life moves on for me, I got a new one the very next day. Thanks to Aliyah, for her recommendation cause I couldn't be bothered to look around all the brands. As long as it cleaned my laundry, I'm a very happy person. It's 9 kg, you know....I can even wash my kids in it...HA HA HA HA HA.....*evil laugh*.
Aaarrrrggggghhhhhhh!!!
This headache is killing me. It started on Thursday morning, and now it came on and off. Gulping Panadol and poured medicated oil on my head just couldn't help to ease the pain. The scariest part is, my children became the victim. Slight mistake made by them, will get a harsh scolding from me. This headache made me a monster!
Hubby has been understanding and supportive so far, though at times he became the victim too. But I can't help it. I even didn't really enjoy the long weekend. What a waste.
Maybe it's the weather, maybe I'm lacking of rest, or maybe my body is full of wind and it goes to my head. Maybe it's time another massage.....
Bilalah rumah aku nak cantik ni...???
HELP!!!
My house is in total chaos. These two rascals having their fun and I'm having back ache.....again. And demanding them to pick those things up has fallen to deaf ears. Haizzzz.....
Tuesday, March 08, 2005
The redness in my right eye is almost gone, but it feels to itcy. If I start to rub my eye, the germs will surely spread again. So I just have to keep on blinking my eye. The eye drop that the doctor prescribed work wonders but...after each drop to the eye, I can taste the medicine in my throat, as though I drank the medicine. It taste....yucks. The medicine taste won't go away even after I drank lots of water. So I ate chocolate instead, just to make the bitter taste go away. I barred my kids from eating chocolates everyday, and now they are watching me munching them right after putting the eye drop. And you think they would just sit there and watch, no way!! The words "NAK, NAK, NAK" could be heard. I have to give in so that I can have some peace. KIDS!!!
March school holidays are just round the corner. Hubby had applied two days' leave to spend quality times with us. We have some plans on where to go, but not confirm yet. Really look forward to the school holidays, it seems I'm more excited than the kids!
Saturday, March 05, 2005
Got this virus this morning. It's getting bad in the late evening. I kept rubbing my right eye as it felt so itcy and uncomfortable. Using Optrex did not help much. Must see doctor first thing in the morning before it get worse.
Sore Eye
There goes my weekend.......
Friday, March 04, 2005
I am very grateful and relieved to announce that we have paid off all our renovation loan for our house. It's been five years since we carried the burden. I admitted that there were times that our financial situation were tight, but somehow we managed to pull through. Alhamdulillah......
I really hope that we will not be taking up anymore loan (except for the HDB loan which we can't run from). We really need to top-up our savings, not just for us, but for our kids too. May Allah make it easier for us.
Afrina was overjoyed when I told her that I wanted to make suji AGAIN. This time, I allowed her to shape her own suji. She came up with many weird shapes. Despite the shape, it still taste good....
Wednesday, March 02, 2005
The scent of the 'minyak urut' still lingers on my body and even in my room. I feel relaxed now and no more back pain. I was a little ticklish and my body was tensed when she started to rub my body. I was told to relax. One and a half hour gone so fast. How I wish I could get massage everyday....
It's not easy to become the 'middle' person. I have tried my very best to be the neutral party but it's not an easy task. When I listened to the first story, I felt angry, but after listening to the second one, I felt pity. But I know I have to put those feelings aside as I have to remind myself that I am not in the position to take sides. I love both parties the same and I am honoured that they have put their trust in me through confiding. These responsibilities are heavy, at least for me. When I talked to the first party, I felt the urge to tell the whole story from the second party, and vice-versa. But something stopped me somehow. I was glad that I didn't do that cause when I stepped back and looked at the whole scenario, it will only make matter worse. I did not want to be 'talam dua muka'. It's difficult to convey the message to both parties as I had to rephrase their words in a nice and acceptable manner. And if I phrase it wrongly, I can foresee that I will be at the losing end if there are to make peace with each other. I have done my part and now it's up to them to forgive, forget and start afresh. May Allah lead them to the right way.
Rest assured that I am not flattered that people came to me for advise or opinion. I am not a counselor of any kind or someone that people can look up to. I am just a humble human being who has her own flaws. I am not perfect. But if people come to me for advise, I am glad to give my opinion from my point of view. I treasure their trust in me.
Ya Allah, please give me the strength to hold these responsibilities....
Tuesday, March 01, 2005
My back was aching since Sunday. Not sure what's the reason. So I called up a friend who is a 'tukang urut' by profession. She will come this afternoon.
I do have a few things to write but presently, I just can't wait to be massage. Till I can sit up straight, then I'll start to update again.
Bye...........
I'M BACK!!!
My PC was having some technical problems for the past week. Alhamdulillah, everything is in perfect order now. We have decided to cease using the Singnet Broadband, so now we are using the Starhub MaxOnline. Hopefully it will not give us problems anymore.
Thank you for the birthday wishes for Afiqah and Afrina. Afrina's birthday was on 21st February and she is 6 six years old now. Since PC was down, so I didn't manage to upload her baby picture taken six years ago. Thank you to all once again.
Till the next update.......Enjoy your weekend!!!
Happy 3rd Birthday To Nurin Haida Afiqah Binte Rohaizat....
3 years ago....
I am 3 years old.....
Wednesday, February 16, 2005
Afrina and Afiqah's birthday are coming soon. Afrina has been pressuring me to prepare goodies bags to be distributed to her classmates. As this is her last year in Kindergarten, I agree. So Hubby went to JB to get all the goodies. Afrina also requested for birthday cake. As I do not want to trouble her teacher to cut the cakes in class, Hubby suggested that I bake cup cakes for her instead, which I tried yesterday. Of course the two girls are delighted to have goodies bags and cup cakes for their classmates.
Rasulullah s.a.w bersabda : "Barangsiapa menggembirakan anak perempuannya, darjatnya seumpama orang yang sentiasa menangis kerana takutkan Allah dan orang yang takutkan Allah, akan diharamkan api neraka ke atas tubuhnya".
Chocolate Chips Cup Cakes
Yesterday, I felt that I was working non-stop. The weather was hot and I was sweating even though the fan was on. These were the major things that I did :-
Sent Afrina to school - bathed Afiqah and Affandy - clear laundry - cook - sent Afiqah to school - market - continue cooking - fetched Afrina - baked cake - coached Afrina on her homework - fetched Afiqah - lunch with the kids - put Afiqah and Affandy to sleep - update blog for a while - ironing - changed ALL bed sheets, mattress and pillows covers - bathed the kids - cleared the mess at living room - dinner with the kids - shower - played with the kids - put the kids to bed - watched CSI while waiting for Hubby to come home - slumber land. Phew.....my right hand is aching now!
Hubby lost his handphone yesterday. The sad thing is, all important telephone numbers were stored in his SIM card. It's tedious to get all the numbers all over again. He will be picking his new SIM card today and he will use his old handphone. I was wondering if I can sweet-talk him in buying the latest new handphone for me, and he can use mine instead...
Tuesday, February 15, 2005
I don't have the chance to sit long enough in front of the computer to update my blog. My name was being called everytime I sat in this room. Afiqah and Affandy is taking their afternoon nap, so this is my only chance to quickly recap the events in my life for the past few days.
Wednesday was lunching and shopping day with Linda and her mum. I bought a beautiful and expensive (very pricey for me!) cloth for myself. After sending them back home, I'm off to my in-laws' house. As usual, my MIL packed up some food for me to bring back.
Thursday was swimming day for us. Brought the kids to Choa Chu Kang Swimming Complex and we lunched at Sembawang Shopping Centre. Then stay home as everyone was tired.
Friday was back to normal routine as the girls started schooling.
Saturday was KO Gathering day. I've prepared 'lontong goreng' and we met at Lizanoor's house. This was the 3rd gathering for us. As we have known each other for quite sometime, our meetings was filled with jokes and laughter. I can see that we were not shy anymore, unlike the very 1st meeting. What is gathering without lots of foods being spread on the table. We ate, we laughed, we took pictures, we shaked hands and we left. Here's my photo with each of them...
Last shot before we headed home...
When will our next gathering be, girls?
Sunday morning I attended religious class and I saw Th0ts. She was quite a distance for me to call her. So I just sent her sms after the class and she was surprised. Will call out her name if I see her next week. And yes, Spidey was there too. No chance to chat long with her as she had to rush after the class.
Stayed home for the rest of the day till dinner. We dined at a restaurant along Sembawang Road. Next day was back to usual routine....
Hubby and the kids really love to eat suji. So after searching for the recipe, finally I have made my own!! (I've taken some pics but I can't seem to open my photobucket).
Thank you once again Mummy Jam for the recipe. You can be my official on-line recipe book *grin*. This is the original and traditional recipe. I also got some useful tips from my Aunt on how to make a good suji. It really taste simply divine...not so sweet and not so soft, just nice.
Let's see how long this tupperware of suji can last....
'Selamat Menyambut Zikral Hijrah 1426, semoga hidup kita senantiasa diberkati Allah....'
Before we headed to the dentist, Affandy had his hair trimmed. By his Abah, of course, as always. And as always, he just could not keep still. He would cry and cry and cry until no voice came out. Hubby was not satisfied with the trimming this time round. It was not perfectly done as Affandy moved too much. Guess what, the 'petak' appeared again! It's right at the back of his head. As long as his hair is no longer spiky, I don't mind the 'petak' at all.
We went to our dentist appointment after lunch. Hubby went in first. Geee..what took him so long inside? Then it's Afrina's turn. I went in with her. I explained to the dentist about my worry. She said that was nothing to worry about. It's normal for a new tooth to grow even thought the old ones are still intact. Sooner or later, it will fall off by itself. So now I'm a 'kancheong' mother. Well just for simple checking and explaining, $10 for consultation fee. Hah!!!
Next was my turn. She took about 10 mins to clean my teeth. And I'm free to go, with freshly polished teeth!! The dental fees for the 3 of us totalled up to $168!! So expensive. But at least all of us can have more reasons to smile broadly....
These past few days, I felt like throwing up whenever I woke up in the morning. I did throw up though. It scares me when I think I will be, you know, that nine-months-ten-days thing. I'm not sure about that, well at least for now. Hopefully it was just the food that I took the night before. But if I am fated to be *I don't want to mention the word*, I guess HE knows better and what's best for me.
I'm very anxious about tomorrow. It's my dental appointment! Everytime I see the dentist, I'll get butterfly in my stomach. I am sure I'm not alone. Hubby and Afrina will get to see the dentist too. It's kind of our weekend activities *LOL*. This kind of activity sure sucks! Afrina is going to be 6 years old soon, but all the teeth are still intact. Then why am I bringing to the dentist? It's because, her new tooth has grown. Even though all her baby teeth still in good condition, this new tooth just pop up. I find it weird. So I decided to bring her to dentist. But if the dentist decides to pull out her baby tooth, then I am in great trouble. Cause I promised Afrina the dentist just need to check. No pain involves. Hopefully all will turn out fine.
Today my menu is Laksa! Thanks to the Instant Gravy *grin*. Since its easily available in the market, why not give it a try. But my Laksa is more to a healthy version, less oil, less santan and less salt. It tasted just simply divine.
My father-in-law called up saying he's coming. He came up alone as he was from JB. He bought for us Murtabak from JB...yummy. I asked him to come in but he declined as he didn't want to be late for his Friday prayer. We chat for a while between my front gate, me inside and him outside. I still find it weird and uneasy to have long conversation with him. I don't know why. It's just that I don't know how to end the conversation. What kind of daughter-in-law is this? Well at least I can have Murtabak and Laksa today....
My tummy is playing some music....it's NUMB!
I have problems with the settings and alignment of my previous template. So for now, I'm happy with this one. And yes, no haloscan for me. Please feel free to give your comments and opinions at the tagboard. I'm sure it's big enough!
And listen to the music here...it's so soothing and calm (for this version of course). For those who does not have a speaker, here's the lyric of the song. Just sing it in your head.
NUMB
I'm tired of being what you want me to be
Feeling so faithless lost under the surface
Don't know what you're expecting of me
Put under the pressure of walking in your shoes
(Caught in the undertone just caught in the undertone)
Every step I take is another mistake to you
(Caught in the undertone just caught in the undertone)
I've become so numb I can't feel you there
I've become so tired so much more aware
I've becoming this all I want to do
Is be more like me and be less like you
Can't you see that you're smothering me
Holding too tightly afraid to lose control
Cause everything that you thought I would be
Has fallen apart right in front of you
(Caught in the undertone just caught in the undertone)
Every step that I take is another mistake to you
(Caught in the undertone just caught in the undertone)
And every second I waste is more than I can take
I've become so numb I can't feel you there
I've become so tired so much more aware
I've becoming this all I want to do
Is be more like me and be less like you
And I know
I may end up failing too
But I know
You were just like me with someone disappointed in you
I've become so numb I can't feel you there
I've become so tired so much more aware
I've becoming this all I want to do
Is be more like me and be less like you
I've become so numb I can't feel you there
Is everything what you want me to be
I've become so numb I can't feel you there
Is everything what you want me to be
Enjoy......!!!
As the condition of my children still remain the same, I decided to get them to see another doctor yesterday. Hubby took sometime off from work to go with us. But luck was not on our side. The clinic was closed. I did not see the opening hours stated on the card in the first place. In the end, we just bought the cough syrup from the pharmacy nearby. Then we brought the kids to have some snack at McDonalds. Affandy loves to eat French fries; I saw that he ate quite a few. Well at least he took something to fill his stomach.
Even though Afiqah is still coughing, she never misses to enjoy her class. As I was sitting with her yesterday, she kept singing, "Ding Dong Bell, Ding Dong Bell". At first I could not get her song, but when she sang the whole song, even though the lyrics were not clear, she got the tune right. This is HER version of the song :-
Are you sleeping, are you sleeping
Ba de da, ba de da
Nying nying nying are nyining, nying nying nying are nyining
Ding Dong Bell, Ding Dong Bell!
Can you tell what song this is?
She is my 'pelat' little chubby girl. Even though she is the one who loves to test my patience most, I love her still the same. And she loves to put lots of powder on her face....
I want to write about my weekend, but today I just feel PISSED OFF. I don't understand why people can be downright rude and unethical. If I have done anything offensive, tell me straight to my face! I can accept it and sincerely apologize if I am wrong.
The situation at home does not enlighten my mood. With Affandy and Afiqah still sick, I have no idea what else I should do to make them better. The thing is they seldom get sick. But once the virus start attacking them, it's going to take while for them to recover. But, not this long. They have been sick for more than two weeks now. They have completed the whole course of medication. I even brought Affandy twice to see the doctor. But their conditions still remain the same, though slightly improved. What I worry most, is their fever. One moment they are fine - they will sweat and behave like any active children, but another moment they will just sit one corner and become very quiet. Then they will start crying and asked to be carried. The worst is Affandy, as nothing can make him comfortable beside cling to me. Another worry is that, he lost his appetite. Not single rice he will swallow, not even a biscuit. He only wanted nature's milk. I have to feed him but I am skeptical that the milk is nutritious enough for him. At his age, he ought to take more solid food. But at this moment, he just wanted my milk. I don't mind giving him, but how to make him understand that I have other things to do also. It also deprives me from my sleeping at night. It makes me stress up but I can't bear to see him crying out for me.
As a Mom, besides doing my very best to look after them, I just pray that my children will get better and healthier. Maybe this is a test for me. Ya Allah, please give me strength to carry on....
BENDA NI LAH!!!
Benda ni lah yang Hubby belikan masa kita shopping kat Courts Toa Payoh Central tu. Ada sale pulak tu. Benda-benda macam ni, hanya surirumah seperti aku aje yang tahu menghargai. Tanpa benda-benda ni, terasa hidup macam tak sempurna gitu. Lagi-lagi seterika (betul tak ejaan dia??) tu...dah lama aku mengecek Hubby suruh belikan yang baru. Barulah dapat. Yang lama bukan dah rosak, cuma bawah dia dah bercalar-calar habis aku kerjakan. Aku bukan ganas, itu maknanya aku bekerja!! Hampir setiap hari aku gosok baju, kalau tak aku, siapa lagi!!!
Yang benda lagi satu pulak, err...tangan ni macam dah gatal nak buat bermacam-macam kuih. Tak kira kuih apalah, asalkan senang dibuat. Sebenarnya aku ada yang besar punya, tapi aku simpan kat store untuk collect habuk. Sebab dia besar sangat, lainlah kalau aku nak buat kuih untuk 200 orang punya makan. Dah lah berat benda tu, tak kuasa aku nak angkat. Tapikan, itu pemberian ibu mertuaku tau, so ada sentimental value. Setiap kali nak menjelang raya, dia pasti jeling-jeling kat dapur aku, nak tengok aku ada pakai ke tak. Dah 5 tahun benda tu tak keluar-keluar!! Sebab tu aku simpan baik-baik kat store tu. Tunggulah nanti bila aku ada rancangan nak berniaga kuih, baru aku keluarkan (wait long long). Sementara ni, aku gunakanlah mixer yang kecik molek macam aku ni. Nak buat kuih apa eh....??
HAH!!! BACALAH.........!!!!
Semalam aku hantar Afiqah berjumpa doktor kerana dia demam. Oleh kerana dia tak ke sekolah, aku mintak doktor tu MC. Hari ini dia agak sihat, cuma tinggal batuk aje. Dia ni macam aku, nak makan ubat yang sedap aje. Ubat batuk ni ada sikit pahit, jadi dia tak nak makan. Terpaksalah campurkan dengan susu, baru dia minum. Walaupun dia sakit, mulut dia tak sakit. Asyik pet pot pet pot aje. Ada aje yang dia nak cakap. Yang part ni aku tak tau dia ikut siapa, sebab aku tak macam gitu. Aku pet pot pet pot ikut mood. Nak kira kan aku ni pendiam jugaklah. Betullllll...
Masa Hari Raya Haji kemarin, aku ke rumah emak. Masa tu aku masih sakit, jadi aku rilek aje kat sana. Rumah emak pulak ramai orang datang, jadi ramai yang tolong jagakan anak-anak aku. Dapat jugak aku rest. Emak aku suka masak-masak. Sampai pakcik aku cakap, dia masak untuk 200 orang punya makan. Dia pun suka kasi adik beradik dan anak sedara dia tapau lauk-pauk tu. Sesiapa yang datang rumah emak, pasti balik dengan plastic bag. Orang semua favourite lauk sambal goreng dan ayam masak merah dia. Bila agaknya aku boleh terror masak macam emak?
Lepas Maghrib, Hubby ajak pergi shopping kat Toa Payoh Central. Apalagi...dapatlah aku beli barang-barang yang aku idam-idamkan. Nak tau apa? Tak boleh cakap sekarang. Nanti bila aku free, aku publish gambar barang-barang tu. Part tu korang nak komen, silakan......
Hari Sabtu, aku bawak anak-anak pergi rumah kawan aku. Hubby kena kerja satu hari, tapi kawan aku lagi satu pelawa aku tumpang kereta dia. Sebenarnya aku segan, tapi dia nak jugak suruh aku tumpang, boleh jugak aku jimat duit teksi.
Sampai aje rumah kawan aku tu, anak-anak aku terus masuk bilik anak dia. Aku panggil suruh makan pun dorang tak layan. Mana tak, bilik budak tu macam kedai mainan. Semua mainan ada. Bila part kemas, aku kena salute dengan kawan aku. Sebab kalau suruh aku kemas bilik mainan tu, aku TAK SANGGUP!!!
Walaupun Hubby tak de, aku dah biasa dengan tetamu-tetamu yang hadir. Ada ke patut dorang cakap aku ibu tunggal!!! Ada pulak yang menghasut bahawa Hubby sebenarnya tak kerja. Aku dah biasa dengan kerenah bapak-bapak ni semua. Perangai gila-gila dorang tak hilang dari muda. Bila dah jumpa, pasti gamat!!
Hubby sampai rumah kawan aku dalam pukul 9 malam. Ramai tetamu yang dah pulang. Aku tetamu terakhir yang balik. Yang bestnye, banyak makanan aku dapat tapau balik. Mana yang aku favourite, aku ambil lebih-lebih. Dengan kawan aku ni, aku tak nak segan-segan, buang karen aje.
Hari Ahad, aku pergi rumah emak lagi. Dah menjadi kebiasaan, pada Hari Raya Haji, aku dan Hubby jadi sukarelawan kat Masjid Muhajirin. Aku tinggalkan anak-anak kat rumah emak, aku pergi berdua dengan Hubby. Tak dapat bayangkan betapa seronoknya dapat keluar berdua tanpa anak-anak, walaupun untuk seketika.
Di masjid, kambing tak kunjung tiba. Dari sebelum Asar sampai lepas Isyak, masih tak nampak bayang kambing. Oleh kerana hari dah malam dan besok budak-budak nak sekolah, Hubby ajak balik. Emak cakap anak-anak aku tak nangis pun. Tapi yang bestnye kan, emak cakap sekali-sekali tinggalkan anak-anak aku kat rumah dia, biar dia jagakan. Yahoo!!! Ada chance lah aku dating berdua dengan Hubby. Dalam kepala otak ni dah plan macam-macam...nak tengok wayang, nak shopping, nak makan kat high-class restaurant, nak pergi laut, nak pergi hotel....wow! Aku rindu dengan alam romantika yang pernah aku nikmati dulu. Sekarang pun masih romantik jugak, tapi sekejap aje. Time limited!!!!
As I am typing this, my head is drowsy due to the flu medicine that I took just now. I am also shivering even though the weather is hot outside. Yes, I am sick, and so are Afrina, Afiqah and Affandy. All of us has been down with flu and cough.
But Afrina is the worst among us as she had fever since Sunday night. She was absent from school on Monday as her temperature was quite high. By afternoon, she has started sweating and she looked fine, so she went to school on Tuesday. But last night, her temperature rose again, and her coughing made her vomited. I send her to see doctor this morning, and she got 2 days of MC. She had 5 types of medicine to take. I just let her rest and hopefully she can recover soon.
Afiqah just started to cough and a slight running nose. It looks like she is fit to go to school. I gave her the medicine before she goes to school just now. Hopefully she did not fall asleep as the medicine will make her drowsy.
As usual, my Affandy will get cranky and agitated easily when he is sick. It was so difficult to get him to take the medicine as he would struggle and cried his heart out. I got no choice but to force him to swallow the medicine. How I wish Hubby was here to help me out....
I really hope that we could recover fast as I really need to be back on my feet again. I just feel that I can't afford to fall sick. There are so many things to do and I do not want to rely on Hubby so much. He has been very helpful and I am really grateful for that.
Thank you for those who has tagged and wrote some comments for me. I really need to rest and to be myself again. I will visit each of you once I am fine.
By the way, the cookies that I made last week was just a try out. It's not meant for Hari Raya Haji. I thought of baking something today but I don't have the strength. And I miss my class today.....
Alhamdulillah, so far I am getting use to the new routine. Though my free time is limited, I managed to squeeze some time to bake this....
Snow Rock Cookies
Thank you Mummy Jam for your recipe. She gave me quite some time ago, only now I had the time to bake it. At least my oven get heat up once in a while. Now I'm tempted to bake something, which the recipe I got it from Zu. It may look easy, but not sure if I can do it.
In order to bake this, I need to push myself and some motivations, from Hubby maybe....
Every Friday, all the students from my daughters' school are required to put on jubah and tudung for the girls and baju kurung and songkok for the boys. I couldn't stop smiling looking at Afiqah in that attire.
Before going to school.....and yes, powder on the face is a MUST!
After school......
Berserak habis!!!
Thursday, January 06, 2005
It's been almost a week since the school reopen, but I still have not get use to the new routine. It seems that my "free" time is shorten. My duty starts from 5.30 a.m., and by 9.00 p.m. I'm dead worn out.
I am not in the position to complain as I know I am working in the comfort of my own abode. Who would listen to me anyway? I'm just grateful that I have the chance to look after my own children and watch them develop from babies to who they are right now. It's not an easy task, but I have to take one step at a time. I just have to remind myself that I am not perfect nor a superwoman. Hopefully that can bring my stress level down.
I've just on my PC and Affandy is crying looking for me.....
What a busy day today!!!
8.00 a.m - The whole family sent Afrina to school. Since she is familiar with the school's surroundings and atmosphere, I have nothing to worry about. As Afiqah will be in the next session, I brought her in hopefully she will not be shock later. She insisted that she wanted to join her sister in the classroom. I had to carry her out. We had breakfast at McDonalds, went to Sheng Siong and reached home about 10.00 a.m. Need to prepare Afiqah for school.
11.30 a.m - Sent Afiqah in to her classroom. I was quite worried as some students from other classes started to cry. But Afiqah was too busy to notice that.
Get ready to go to school.
She chose the seat herself. Posed before the form teacher comes in.
This is the cutest part. While her form teacher was busy talking to other parents and waiting for the classmates to settle down, she took out her pencil and Barbie book and started to do her own work. *That's my girl!*
Starts to make friend....
Finished school. Waiting for the school bus and showing off her name tag....
At the void deck, tired after 2 hrs of school.
We reached home about 2.00 p.m. Since I did not have the time to cook, we bought our lunch from the usual place, Banquet Vista Point.
Tomorrow will be another hectic day. Hubby will start work after a long sweet holiday. And I'm back to my usual routine.
Sunday, January 02, 2005
Hari ini aku nak bercerita dalam bahasa ibunda pulak.
Semalam pagi selepas sholat subuh, suami aku tak tidur balik. Jarang dia buat macam gini. Dia menonton DVD, lepas itu dia mandi dan turun Vista Point belikan kami sarapan. Lepas itu, dia tolong aku vacuum satu rumah pulak tu! Seronokkan? Kalau tiap-tiap minggu macam gini kan best. Tapi aku tak ambil kesempatan tau. Aku pun ada banyak lagi kerja nak dibereskan.
Selepas kami sholat Zuhur, kami siap untuk ke Sengkang, angkut dia
satu keluarga. Kami nak angkut dia dalam pukul 2, dia boleh "menawar masa" lagi! Dari 2.30 ke 2.45. Tapi turunnya pukul 3.10. Tapi takpe, sebab aku suka keluar dengan keluarga dia. Anak-anak aku ada kawan, suami aku ada kawan, aku pun ada kawan. Suami kami punya "gila-gila" pun setanding, jadi kami tak bosan.
Kita pergi Orchard Road tau. Kita makan di Breeks di Ngee Ann City. Lepas makan, kita jalan-jalan, tapi terpisah pulak. Keluarga dia nak pergi Metro, tapi keluarga aku, nak pergi John Little. Jadi suami aku telepon suami dia, tunggu di Masjid Al-Falah aje lepas sholat Maghrib.
Di John Little, aku fikir nak membeli belah sikit (sikit aje!), tapi terbantut pulak. Ni semua gara-gara Afrina lah!. Tengah sebuk pilih-pilih baju, dia kata dia sakit perut, nak memberut. Spoil ah! Takkan nak suruh Abah dia hantarkan? Jadi terpaksalah cari bilik kecik tu. Cari punya cari, jumpa jugak. Bila dah habis urusan dia, dah masuk waktu Maghrib, mana ada masa nak pilih barang lagi! Dengan muka yang mencuka ni, berjalanlah kita anak-beranak ke Masjid Al-Falah. Hati ini tengah panas tau, bercampur dengan tekak haus lagi. Tapi sampai Masjid, suami aku belikan air Soya Bean, lepas tu dia beri amaran pada anak-anak, "KASI UMMI MINUM DULU!" Yeah, aku dapat minum first, kalau tidak asyik Afiqah atau Afrina aje first, aku kena mengalah. Lepas sholat, aku tak "hot" lagi. Takkan depan kawan nak tunjuk muka 14 kan?
Suami kawan aku tu, suruh lepak kat rumah dia, sebab dia nak tengok perlawanan bola. Di kereta, kita semua berdebat mana nak beli makan malam. Compass Point ke atau Rivervall Mall? At last, aku yang buat keputusan, pergi Rivervall Mall sudahlah. Habis cerita. Bila sampai depan pintu rumah kawan aku tu, dia cakap, "jangan terkejut, rumah dia berserak". Bila aku masuk, dalam hati aku cakap, "ini dia kata berserak, dia belum tengok rumah aku lagi!"
Sambil makan dan melayan tetamu, tuan rumah lelaki tu sempat tengok bola. Aku sengaja kacau dia, suruh dia tukar saluran, sebab aku bosan tengok perlawanan bola. Dia cakap, lepas ni, aku nak tengok cerita apa pun boleh, lagi 10 minit bola ni habis. Tapikan, lepas bola habis, dia on x-box pulak. Habislah suami aku pun melekat kat depan tv tu. Nasib baik isteri dia layan aku berbual. Macam-macam kami perbualkan, sampai haus tekak.
Jam dah nak pukul 12 tengahmalam, suami aku tak sound pun nak balik. Ini tak boleh jadi! Budak-budak pulak sebok serakkan bilik bujang kecik yang penuh dengan alat permainan. Apalagi, tak ingat nak balik lah.
Kami sampai rumah pukul 12.30 malam. Si Afiqah dah dibuai mimpi bila masuk kereta, jadi Abah dia kena pikul. Kami terpaksa kejutkan Afrina dari tidur dia, sebab dia kena jalan sendiri. Siapa nak dukung dia, anak dara dah besar panjang! Lepas sholat Isyak, aku pun terus dibuai mimpi. Bila tadi jam bunyi pukul 5.30, dah kena bangun. Sampailah sekarang.
Aku ingatkan suami nak buat macam semalam, lepas subuh tak tidur balik. Macam takde harapan gitu. Entah nanti boleh bangun pergi belajar di Masjid An-Nur ke tidak? Kita tengok lah nanti.......
HAPPY NEW 2005!!!
Goodbye 2004..... Happy New Year to everyone!
Yesterday, even though it was raining the whole day, we brought the kids out. We had our lunch at Banquet Vista Point. Suprisingly, I met Salha while I was enjoying my food. She came down to have lunch with her whole family too. I was glad that I met up with her again and we exchanged phone numbers. But we did not manage to say goodbye as she left when I sent Afiqah to the washroom.
After lunch, we parked our car, took the feeder bus and MRT to Lot 1 Choa Chu Kang. My kids were happy and contented to have the chance to take the MRT rides. Normally Hubby would drive us to our destinations or I would flag a taxi if Hubby was not around. Watching them couldn't sit still in the trains, made me think twice to ride with them alone, without Hubby. I wouldn't want to raise my voice unnecessarily to them in the public. Wait till they are a bit older and listen to every instructions from me, then I will be confident enough.
We just walked around at Lot 1 Shopping Centre and I bought a birthday gift for a friend's child. We took the train and bus back home.
Since it was still raining and we were lazy to buy dinner, I cooked instant noodles instead. As we seldom eat them, it tasted delicious till my girls had their third servings. They were really famished after the outing. I put the kids to bed before 10.00 p.m. I thought of joining Hubby watched TV after they were asleep, but when I woke up, it was already 5.30 a.m this morning.
No plans for today yet. But I will insist to Hubby that we should go out as I can anticipate that Monday will be a very busy day for me. There's where my duty as a domestic engineer resume. A very demanding and tough job undeniably!
